One of the most anticipated hunts of the year!! We will be traveling to a new location this year and adding another group of dogs. For the first time, 5 girls will be going on this hunt.
COST: $10 plus 1 box of shotgun ammo donated to Finley River Chapter.
LEAVING: January 23, 2016 - 6am. We will travel to Shawnee Wildlife Area aprox 1.5hrs away. In order to get a full hunt in we will need to try to be very punctual. IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!!!
MEETING PLACE: Murfins Market, Willard MO
RETURN: January 23, 2016 - 8pm We will try to wrap up the hunt by 4, clean the harvest, and head back at a reasonable time.
NEEDS: Each hunter will need to bring their own lunch, water and snacks for the day.
20 gauge shotgun with "game load" ammo. 7 1/2 or 8 shot size. 1 box. If CTO needs to provide gun and ammo please communicate early and be sure we confirm. We have several to choose from but gathering them takes time to coordinate. We are happy to provide.
Warm clothes and dry boots will help the hunters have a better day. We will 100% outdoors on this hunt.
On this hunt, we try to provide 1 guide per 1 hunter. If a dad or grandpa are available and are experienced in gun safety, your help is greatly appreciated. Again, we have several volunteers for this hunt but coordinating them takes time. Please advise early and make sure we confirm so that we can provide a safe hunt. There is no cost for a dad or grandpa to attend as a helper. The kids will be the only hunters.
All rabbits harvested will be donated to to 3rd annual Finley River Chapter BEAST FEAST. March 5, 2016.
There will be several emails communicated the week prior to the hunt. Please stay in the loop for changes and announcements that are very likely to happen. We are expecting 20 kids and up to 24 volunteers on this hunt. It takes a lot to keep everyone in the loop but we will do our best. TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!!!
