The CTO James River chapter is a youth hunting and fishing club for boys and young men age 7-20. We are "Building Men, Preserving our Heritage and Sharing our Faith."  Go with us on real hunting and fishing trips and other exciting outings - including the coolest Summer Camps in the world!

    TRIP DETAILS: Meet at Cooper House, Friday night October 27 and returning on Sunday the 29th by late afternoon (approx. 5:30pm). Cooper address: 8626 West Farm Rd 64 Willard, MO 65781. We will have dinner upon arrival 

    SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Each hunter will receive a CTO Hunter Orange Hat 

    You will be sleeping in a Tent. Bring your own warm sleeping bag, pillow and your camo and hunting equipment. Also you need hunter orange vest and hat! It’s the Law! Bring clean clothes to change into around the camp, and all your toiletries, etc.  All paperwork must be filled out. This will be a fun hunt. ** You will need your Youth Any Deer or Antlerless hunting license. No tag, NO Hunt!!

    We will provide the meals for each day along with water. If you want snacks than you will need to bring them. ***No loud snacks in the woods***

    ***If are bringing your own riffle it must be in a case, along with a target with a shot group of 5, this will confirm your riffle is zeroed.

    Outing Location: Mountain Grove area

    Youth boys firearms deer hunt taking place in Sarcoxie MO.

    Meet at Heritage Farms near Sarcoxie MO Friday October 26 at 6pm.

    Return Saturday night, around 7pm. Depending on the harvest this time could change by an hour or so. Please be flexible. 

    Boys are allowed to bring their own firearm and ammo with a signed target showing 3 shots. If CTO needs to provide the firearm please contact Mike Harris asap. 417-234-7654

    We will have opportunity to hunt primarily tree stands on this farm. If you'd prefer a ground blind please notify Mike before the hunt.

    Sleeping bags and pillows will be needed as well as normal toiletries.

    It is likely to be cold. Please be prepared. We have some extra warm gear if notified of the need.

    We now have a house to stay in for the evening so we will be very comfortable.

    The hunting property is located just west of Mt Vernon on 512 acres of prime hunting land, just across the river from Baptist Hill. We will meet Friday night to prepare for the hunt and then hunt Saturday and Sunday.  Meet at my house at 6:30 pm Friday night. Eat before you come. (Text 417-848-9622 for directions). Pick up same location Sunday evening around 9:00 pm, but that could change depending on evening kills.

    We will be staying in a house, but you will still need sleeping bags (and cots if you have them). Bring camo for the hunt, clothes to get dirty in, 2 towels, camp chair and toiletries (especially soap and toothbrush).

    Rifles will be provided; however, you may bring your own if you also bring ammo and a paper target with 3 shots placed on it from 50 yards (signed by an adult for verification).

    MO youth firearms tags are required.

    Hunter orange hat and hunter orange vest or jacket is required. It is likely to be cold. Please be prepared.

    TRIP DETAILS: Meet at the Bouse Bunkhouse in Bourbon MO, Wednesday afternoon at 1pm the 27th and returning on Friday the 29th by 10pm.
    ** For those of you riding with CTO, meet at the Bouse house around 10:30am Wednesday morning to meet the other CTO volunteers to ride to Bourbon. (Bouse House= 7740 West Carl Ave. Springfield MO 65802) Eat Lunch before coming. We will have snacks upon arrival on Sunday night.

    SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: We will be sleeping in a Lodge. Bring your own warm sleeping bag, pillow and your camo and hunting equipment. Also need hunter orange vest and hat! It’s the Law! Bring clean clothes to change into around the camp, and all your toiletries, etc. We will be quite civilized on this trip. Leaving this place better than we found it will be tough! Come prepared to do some “domestic” clean-up work before we leave! All paperwork must be filled out. This will be a fun hunt. ** You will need your Alternative/Muzzleloader hunting license. No tag, NO Hunt!!
    PICK-UP/DROP-OFF LOCATION:

    • Leaving: Wednesday 10:30am at the Bouse House (7740 West Carl, Springfield, MO 65802, December 27th
    • Returning: Will be leaving Bourbon bunkhouse Friday evening the 29th around 7 pm. (Although it is hard to be punctual under the circumstances.)
